The Iran document path
Iran does not use the apostille, so your family's documents follow the longer consular route: issued in Iran, translated into Italian, and stamped by the Italian Embassy in Tehran, then taken to a DiSCo-approved CAF. Because of the situation in Iran this is the hardest document path of any nationality, and the rules change from year to year. Start as early as you can, and confirm the current procedure with DiSCo Lazio or your CAF before you begin.

What the ISEE parificato measures
The is worked out from your family's 2024 income and the assets they held on 31 December 2024. To qualify you must stay at or below €28,339.88 ISEE and €61,608.48 ISPE.
You sign it in person at a DiSCo-approved by 10 December 2026 ( ). This deadline is hard — miss it and you are excluded, with no fix.
The consular route
Iran is not in the Hague Convention, so documents take the longer consular route — issued in Iran, translated, and stamped by the Italian Embassy in Tehran. Iran documents need .
- 1Get each document from the issuing office in Iran, in Persian.
- 2Have each document translated into Italian and legalized through the Italian Embassy in Tehran.
- 3Take the full set, in person, to a DiSCo-approved CAF in Lazio for the ISEE parificato.
The documents to gather
Each in Iranian rial’s language and Italian, with the embassy stamps where required. Amounts are stated in Iranian rial (IRR).
Head-of-family ID
The identity document of the head of the family. If the family has one parent, also add the divorce or death document of the other parent (these do not change, so older stamps may be reused).
Family composition
A declaration by the head of family of who is in the household, who depends on them, and who has their own income.
Housing
Either the property document for the family home (it must show the size in square metres), or the rental contract, with the monthly rent in rials.
Income
For each employed family member, a salary document in rials for the reference year (it must say from when the amount was earned). Self-employed members give a declaration of their income for the year from the business accounts.
Bank balance
An Iranian bank statement, with the bank's stamp, showing the balance in rials on a day in December of the assets year, plus the yearly average if available. An English translation is usually enough for the bank paper.
Student's Italian bank (if any)
If the student held an Italian account, its balance on 31 December of the assets year and the yearly average.
The rules for Iran change — do not assume last year's route
Some Italian regions let Iranian students self-declare their documents at the Iranian consulate because of the emergency. DiSCo Lazio, however, does not accept self-declarations or affidavits. So do not assume that route works in Lazio. Before you spend money or time, ask DiSCo Lazio or your CAF what applies to Iranian applicants this year — this is the most useful thing to check first.
This is the longest path — start immediately
